About us

I grew up in Birmingham, England. I started fishing when I was 6 years old in the canals and small lakes around the city.  One summer morning on a local pool, I was casting a small jointed swimbait at the end of my retrieve a huge pike appeared right behined my lure. We made eye contact. It stopped dead in it's tracks and in a blink of an eye vanished back into the depths. I, unlike the Pike, was totally hooked on lure fishing.

In 1998 I moved to New Jersey. I totally fell in love with the "Shore".  This world class fishery is second to none with chances of hooking up with Striped Bass, Bluefish, Little Tunny and Fluke. Offshore for Bluefin, Yellowfin and Bigeye Tuna along with Mahi-mahi and White Marlin.

There was always one problem I had; how to stow the lure when moving from spot to spot. Like most of us, I used the stripper guide to transport the lure not a good practice! The hook rubbing against the ceramic ring of the guide damages the highly polished finish.

Many rods now come with reversed stripper guides making it difficult to hang the lure.
Use "A-Lure-Ring" keeps the lure away from the rod blank and protects the guide.
